Career Honors: 2006: KU Defensive Scout Player of the Year.

2008 (Jr.): Played as a backup defensive lineman, as well as on some special teams during the year… Recorded 18 tackles, including two tackles for loss… One and one half of those tackles for loss were sacks, as he recorded solo sacks against Kansas State and Missouri and shared a sack against FIU… Recorded an interception, which he returned 21 yards at Iowa State, from his defensive end position… Thirteen of his 17 tackles on the season came in the final four games of the year, including a career-best five stops against Texas and three vs. Missouri… Added a tackle in the Insight Bowl against Minnesota.

2007 (So.): Played in all 13 games as a reserve defensive end… Recorded 12 tackles on the year… Nearly half of his stops were behind the line of scrimmage, as he had five tackles for loss, including a team-best 3.5 sacks… His solo sacks came against Southeastern Louisiana, Toledo and Oklahoma State and his assist was against Florida International… Forced a fumble against Toledo… Recorded a safety on his sack against Southeastern Louisiana… Had a season-high four tackles in the game against Southeastern Louisiana… Had two stops against Toledo and Baylor.

2006 (Fr.): Earned the team[apos]s George Mrkonic Defensive Scout Player of the Year honor… Played in two games, appearing on special teams and as a linebacker… Recorded a solo tackle against Northwestern State and a quarterback hurry against Louisiana Monroe.

High School: An all-state second team selection at linebacker after his senior season… Also was named district most valuable player and all-district first team in 2005… Named all-district first team as a junior in 2004… Collected 141 tackles, nine quarterback sacks and seven pass breakups in 2005… Coached in football by Scott Peach… Earned varsity letters in football and track.

Personal: Born in Arlington, Texas… Majoring in economics… Would like to go into marketing after graduation… Son of Maxwell and Juliet Onyegbule… Has two brothers and one sister.
