At Navarro Junior College: Was a SWJC conference honorable mention selection in 2010… Led the national championship team in tackles with 86… Added five tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, one interception and one pass broken up… As a freshman he made 15 tackles.

High School: In high school he was an all-district first-team wide receiver and second-team cornerback… Had more than 700 receiving yards and four interceptions… Earned three letters in high school.
