2012 (Jr.): Awarded a scholarship prior to the season starting… Played in all 12 games this season, seeing action mostly on special teams… Recorded only tackle of the season against Rice.

2011 (So.): Played in all 12 games… Made first start at Texas… Made first tackles of the season against Texas Tech, recording two… Added a solo stop at Oklahoma State… Matched season high with two assisted stops at Texas… Recorded a tackle, a pass break up and a quarterback hurry at Texas A&M.

2010 (RFr.): Named KU Compete Team Defensive Player of the Week vs. Georgia Tech… Did not see action during the season.

2009 (Fr.): Redshirted his first year at KU… Named KU Defensive Scout Player of the Week vs. Texas.

High School: Was an all-state offensive lineman and defensive tackleas a senior… As a junior he was named all-state honorable mention and first-team all-metro as an offensive lineman and second-team all-district as both an offensive and defensive tackle… Was a lettermen in track throwing the discus and running the 110-meter hurdles.

Personal: Born in Albuquerque, N.M… Son of Terry and Susan Smith… Has one sister, Kaley, who is a freshman on the Kansas soccer team… Plans to major in education.
