2016 (RFr.): Shuffled along the offensive line, but started in all 11 contests he played … Spent time at both right guard and center … Earned a team-third-best 27 knock-down blocks from the coaching staff … Did not record a bad snap in his five games at center … Rhode Island: Earned a start at right guard and helped KU gain 570 yards in its victory … Tied for the team’s highest overall grade in the first start of his career and recorded four knock-down blocks against the Rams … Ohio: Started his second-straight game and after two contests was tied for second on the team with five knock-down blocks … at Texas Tech: Returned from injury to start at right guard and earn the team’s highest pass protection grade, as well as post four knock-down blocks against the Red Raiders … TCU: Earned an 82 percent pass protection grade in helping the Jayhawks throw for 348 yards … at Baylor: Earned a 75 percent run grade against the Bears … Oklahoma State: Earned a 79 percent pass protection grade, while missing no assignments and playing through an illness against the Cowboys … at Oklahoma: Started at center and didn’t record a bad snap on his way to earning an 84 percent pass protection grade against the Sooners … at West Virginia: Earned the team’s highest pass protection grade of 88 percent against the Mountaineers … Iowa State: Anchored the offensive line from the center position and collected a team-best six knock-down blocks, a 94 percent pass protection grade and an 83 percent overall grade against the Cyclones … Texas: Graded out at 88 percent and collected seven knock-down blocks in the victory over the Longhorns … at K-State: Earned an 80 percent overall grade and an 83 percent pass grade in helping the Jayhawks to 302 passing yards.
