Kansas senior Udoka Azubuike has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week in a vote by a media panel, the conference announced Monday.

Kansas sophomore Malkia Ngounoue and freshman Luniuska Delgado upset 13th-ranked Anna Bright and Haley Giavara in doubles, but it was not enough as the No. 19 Kansas women’s tennis team fell to No. 16 Cal, 4-3, Saturday to end ITA Kick-Off Weekend at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.

Junior  Tina Stephens posted her career-high with 20 points, but the Kansas women’s basketball team fell to Iowa State, 67-89, inside James H. Hilton Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. Stephens was also the co-leader in rebounds for KU with nine.

Senior Udoka Azubuike’s eighth double-double and four blocks, including two key swats late, propelled the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks to a 74-68 over Tennessee, 74-68, Saturday afternoon in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
