Martina Wood, a two-time NCAA Final Four participant, enters her second season on the Kansas women’s basketball staff after a three-year professional basketball career and earning four letters at North Carolina as a student-athlete.
Wood will coordinate the team’s practice squad and assist in the player development process. She will also help with the Bonnie Henrickson Summer Camps and assist with day-to-day operations in the KU women’s basketball office.
At North Carolina, Wood competed in both the 2006 and 2007 NCAA Final Fours with the Tar Heels. She was a part of three Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in communication studies from North Carolina in May 2010, Wood competed professionally in Norway, Greece, Lebanon, Ukraine and Jordan. For the last two years, Wood served as the marketing coordinator at Felicia Hall Allen & Associates.
A product of Charlotte, N.C., Wood played the final season of her prep career at The Patterson School.
