TITLE Assistant Sports Performance Coach (WTEN, WGOLF, ROW)

Bio

Ally Ginkens joined Kansas Athletics and Kansas Team Health in October of 2021. She is an Assistant Sports Performance Coach with direct responsibilities implementing the strength and conditioning programs for women’s tennis, women’s golf, and rowing.

Prior to coming to KU, Ginkens was at Hastings College where she was a strength and conditioning graduate assistant for almost two years. She worked with women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, and shotgun. She also assisted with the football team and helped oversee ten or more interns. Ginkens spent the summer of 2021 interning for Creighton University strength and conditioning, assisting with women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and both men’s and women’s soccer.

Ginkens, the Mullen, Nebraska native played volleyball at Hastings College from 2016-19 and was a team captain her senior year. Her freshman year Hastings College won the NAIA National Championship and finished within the sweet 16 her sophomore and junior seasons. In her undergraduate, Ginkens double majored in exercise science and recreation management, graduating in 2020. She is expected to graduate with her master’s in teaching in May of 2022. Additionally, she is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) from which she is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is United States Weightlifting (USA-W) level 1 certified.

Outside of work, Ginkens enjoys spending her time outdoors, playing sports, and catching up with friends and family.
