Bio

Bailey Blood enters her second season as a graduate assistant to the program after concluding a four-year career as a student-athlete for Kansas Rowing. Helped coach the Jayhawks to victory over Kansas State in the Sunflower Showdown on May 1, 2021 as well as back-to-back weekly honors from the Big 12 Conference. As a team Kansas tallied 20-plus top-5 finishes through six regattas. Academically, Kansas rowing was recognized by the Big 12 with 25 total honorees and the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) with 13 student-athletes named National Scholar Athletes.

2018-19 (SENIOR)

  • Raced in the First Varsity Eight at the Cooper Sprints (3/24), finishing third in the petite final with a time of 6:45.02
  • Helped the First Varsity Eight to a fifth place grand final finish with a time of 6:38.88 at the Sunshine State Invite (4/6)
  • Raced in the First Varsity Eight at the George Mason Invite (4/14), finishing first in the grand final with a time of 6:33.30

2017-18 (JUNIOR)

  • Earned a seat in the Second Varsity Eight during her junior campaign
  • Helped the 2V8 to a qualifying heat win at the George Mason Invite with a time of 6:25.7
  • Qualified for the Grand Final at the Knecht Cup with a second place finish and a time of 6:57.09 in the second heat of the Second Varsity Eight event
  • Helped the Second Varsity Eight qualify for the Grand Final at the Big 12 Championship
  • Competed in the Second Varsity Eight and the Third Varsity Four at the Jayhawk Jamboree

2016-17 (SOPHOMORE)

  • Rowed for the First Varsity Four and Third Varsity Eight
  • Raced KU’s Second Varsity Eight to a fifth-place finish in the Grand Final with a time of 6:52.598 at the Big 12 Championship in Oak Ridge, Tennessee
  • Raced KU’s Second Varsity Eight during KU’s 12-10 victory over Kansas State in the annual Sunflower Showdown

2015-16 (FRESHMAN)

  • Rowed First Varsity Four and Second Varsity Four during her first season
  • Raced KU’s Second Varsity Four to a first-place finish in the Grand Final race at the 2016 Knecht Cup with a time of 7:32.33
  • Went undefeated with KU’s Second Varsity Four in the 2016 Knecht Cup

  • Letterwinner in track & field at Blue Valley Southwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas
