Bio

Derek Shoare joined the Kansas coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the summer of 2015 after a highly successful club coaching career in the Kansas City Metro area. His main responsibilities include aiding in the instruction of players in training sessions and games, as well as assist in video analysis of opposition and Kansas performances.

Shoare is a three-time Kansas Competitive Coach of the Year and has won 17 Kansas State Cup Championships as the head man for the KC Dynamos club team.

Shoare, a native of Wolverhampton, England, has been involved in American youth soccer programs for nearly three decades. In 2004, he took over the KC Dynamos and established the program as one of the top clubs in the U.S. The Dynamos advanced to the U.S. Youth Soccer (USYS) national semifinals three times under Shoare (2005, 2014, 2015) and claimed the Kansas State Cup an impressive 17 times while he was a member of the Dynamo staff. His squads amassed four Region II titles championships.

For his heroics, Shoare was selected as the Kansas Youth Coach of the Year in 2005, 2010 and 2014 as well as the Region II Coach of the Year in 2013.

Shoare and his wife, Linda, reside in Overland Park, Kansas.
