Spring 2008 (Senior):Played No. 2 singles most of the season, going 6-15, including 3-7 in Big 12 matches… Played five ranked singles opponents, second-most on the team… Won consecutive matches in KU[apos]s victories over Saint Louis and UMKC… Teamed with Edina Horvath to make up Kansas[apos] No. 1 doubles tandem… The pair went 13-9, including five-straight wins to open the season… The duo went 5-6 in conference matches… Became Kansas[apos] all-time leader in Big 12 doubles wins with 23 on April 20 against Iowa State… Named to the Academic All-Big 12 first team… One of five Kansas student athletes presented with the Robert Frederick Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year Award… Presented with KU[apos]s Hardest Worker Award. Fall 2007 (Senior):Opened the season ranked No. 117 in singles play and 36th in doubles with teammate Edina Horvath… The duo place second in the main doubles bracket at the Cissie Leary Tournament, where it was the event[apos]s No. 1 overall seed… Selected to the qualifying bracket of the ITA All-American Doubles Championships… Played both singles and doubles at the ITA Central Region Championships, advancing to the second round in singles play and to the quarterfinals in doubles action… Together with Horvath, went 5-4 in doubles play during the fall… Finished 1-3 in singles matches… Competed against two nationally-ranked ranked doubles tandems and one singles opponent. Spring 2007 (Junior): Finished the spring with a singles record of 8-14… Opened the season by winning three of her first four contests… Stepped into the No. 1 singles position after playing No. 2 in 2005-06, going 4-7 in Big 12 matches… Faced a team-high nine ranked opponents in singles play… Combined with Edina Horvath to form KU[apos]s top doubles tandem… The duo finished with a team-best record of 15-7, including an 7-4 conference record which was the league[apos]s second best in the No. 1 position… The duo twice recorded streaks of five straight victories and won 11 of its first 13 matches… The pair won a thrilling tiebreak match over Oklahoma[apos]s Baker and Lykina in the first round of the Big 12 Championships… Lost consecutive matches only once while playing with Horvath… Named All-Big 12 singles and doubles for the second year in a row… Member of the Athletic Director[apos]s and Big 12 Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll. Fall 2006 (Junior): Went 7-4 in singles play, competing in three tournaments for the Jayhawks during the Fall… Qualified for the ITA Central Regional championship singles and doubles championships, and was named the singles bracket[apos]s No. 5 seed… Won three singles matches in the event, two in the main singles draw and one in consolation play… Turned in the highlight of the fall season for the Jayhawks by winning the championship[apos]s doubles draw with teammate Edina Horvath… The duo won six contests in route to the title… Together, they won seven straight doubles matches in both the Hoosier Classic and the ITA Central Regionals… Tallied an overall 8-2 record with Horvath. Spring 2006 (Sophomore): Named to the All-Big 12 singles team, as well as the All-Big 12 doubles team with partner Ksenia Bukina… Also awarded Academic All-Big 12 honors… Her 18 singles wins — 16 of which coming in the No. 2 position — were the most on the team… Strung together a team-high 11 straight singles victories from March 11 through April 8… Recorded three wins over ranked opponents, also tops on the team… Tallied a victory over 112th ranked Monica Milewski in the Jayhawks[apos] win over Colorado in the Big 12 Championships… Teamed with Bukina to form KU[apos]s top doubles tandem, going 14-7 in match play… Notched seven straight doubles victories with Bukina from March 12 to April 2… Named team[apos]s Most Valuable Player at awards banquet. Fall 2005 (Sophomore): Tallied a 2-10 singles record…Qualified for the main singles draw of the ITA Central Regionals…Also qualified for the doubles portion of the ITA Central Regionals with Bukina, in which the tandem advanced to the quarterfinals…Played arguably the Jayhawks toughest schedule, including two matches with ranked opponents…Finished 6-6 in doubles play with Bukina. Spring 2005 (Freshman): Notched her first collegiate victory over Yale[apos]s Rashmee Patil, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, on Feb. 19… Took over the No. 1 singles spot and finished 5-13 … Finished 4-7 in Big 12 Singles matches… Competed with four different teammates to compile a 6-14 doubles mark. Fall 2004 (Freshman): Did not play, joined the team in January of 2005. Transferred to Kansas from Moscow State University in Russia. Personal: Mother is Galina Avdeeva… Business major.
