Emily Nelson, MAT, ATC, LAT

Bio

Emily Nelson joined Kansas Team Health in September of 2022 and will be assisting MBB/WBB.

Prior to arriving at KU, Nelson had a short stint as an assistant AT at Bentonville West HS.

Recently graduated with her Masters of Athletic Training at the University of Arkansas in May of 2022. While at Arkansas, her clinical sites included Women’s T&F, Bentonville HS, Men’s Basketball and Bentonville West HS along with an internship with UVA Football in Summer of 2021. Nelson was a part of Arkansas’s MBB Elite 8 run in 2022.

Nelson earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Washburn University in 2020. In her first two years of college, she played volleyball at Highland Community College and Iowa Central Community College.

A native of Bonner Springs, KS, Nelson now resides in Lawrence. She is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Kansas and Arkansas, as well as a member of the NATA and KATS, and is American Red Cross AED/CPR certified.
