John Michel, MS, LAT, ATC

Bio

John Michel joined the Kansas Team Health staff August of 2020. He currently serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Kansas football team.

A 2014 graduate of University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. John spent time with the Green Bay Packers as a seasonal intern then moved on to complete his master’s degree at Louisiana State University. After graduate school, he worked as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Mississippi.

John is a Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification and a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. John holds the certifications of Physical Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Functional Movement Taping, Functional Movement Screen, and Blood Flow Restriction Therapy.

John is from Ashland, Wisconsin and lives in Tonganoxie with his wife Allison, daughter Lily, and son Micah.
