Katy Lonergan joined the Kansas Athletics Communications office in 2007 and is working directly with football, in addition to overseeing women’s tennis.
Lonergan, a Kansas graduate, returned to her alma mater after spending the previous seven years working at the University of Mississippi in a similar capacity. While at Ole Miss, Lonergan worked primarily with the Rebel football and women’s basketball programs. During her tenure at Ole Miss, she worked with NFL first-round draft picks Eli Manning, Deuce McAllister, Patrick Willis, Michael Oher, Peria Jerry and Chris Spencer, as well as, 2007 WNBA Rookie of the Year Armintie Price.
Lonergan, an Iola, Kan. native, graduated from KU with a degree in psychology, with an emphasis in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. While she was a student at KU, she served three years as a student manager with the Jayhawk women’s basketball program and one year as a student assistant in the Kansas Athletics Media Relations office.
