Mary Carpenter joined the Williams Education Fund staff in October 2019 as the associate director.
Carpenter, a University of Kansas graduate, and former member of the KU Rowing team, will lead the day-to-day operations of the annual fund, serve as the liaison to the ticket sales & service department and oversee Kansas Athletics’ One Day One KU efforts, among other duties.
This is Carpenter’s second stint with Kansas Athletics; her first was when she served as the administrative assistant of recruitment for the women’s basketball program from 2013 to 2014.
After graduating from KU in 2007, Carpenter took a job as a territory sales manager for the consumer goods company, Altria. Following her stint in the KU women’s basketball office, Carpenter owned and operated a small business in Seneca, Kan., from 2014 to 2018. Most recently, Carpenter served as the prospect management coordinator for the KU Endowment Association. In 2019, she graduated with her master’s in Business Administration from Kansas Wesleyan University
Carpenter, a native of Bennington, Neb., and her husband, Aaron, reside in Lawrence with their three children, Colby, Emily and Cameron. In her free time, Carpenter enjoys watching collegiate sports, traveling and attempting to play tennis and golf.
