Tony Coaxum is in his first season on Les Miles’ Kansas football staff as a senior analyst for special teams. Coaxum came to KU after spending the 2018 season as the special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach at Central Michigan.
Coaxum brings more than a decade worth of coaching experience to KU. Among his collegiate coaching stops were two stints as an assistant at Army, a fellowship program for the New York Giants and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an intern with the Baltimore Ravens and an assistant special teams coordinator with the Denver Broncos. Coaxum was on the Denver staff when the Broncos won Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
Coaxum earned four letters playing defensive back at Army, where he graduated in 2000.
