Tyler Olker is entering his fifth season with the Kansas football program and his first as the director of recruiting operations. During Olker’s first four seasons at KU, he served as the director of recruiting. Olker is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily recruiting operations and logistics within the Kansas football program.
Olker’s duties at KU include managing the recruiting calendar in regards to official visits, unofficial visits, Junior Days and summer camps. Olker works with the director of personnel to coordinate all updates to the recruiting database. He works closely wtih the creative services team and communications department in the management of the content, creation and design for social media recruiting efforts. Olker is the liaison to the Kansas Compliance office as it pertains to football recruiting, and he assists the director of football operations on a daily basis.
Olker, a native of Spring Grove, Illinois, came to Kansas from the University of Northern Colorado. While at UNC, he served as a graduate assistant for the 2014 season, working under defensive coordinator Larry Kerr.
Olker graduated from UNC in 2014 with a sports and exercise science degree, and received his master’s degree in sports coaching in May 2016. At UNC, Olker was a two-time letterwinner with All-Big Sky Honors on the offensive line. Olker transferred to UNC from the College of DuPage, where he helped his team to a Graphic Edge Bowl victory in 2010.
