LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas swimming & diving sophomore-to-be Jenny Nusbaum, as well as incoming freshman Lauryn Parrish are set to compete in the 2017 U.S. Nationals/World Championship Trials at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI, in a long course meter pool, in Indianapolis, Indiana, June 27-July 1.

Parrish, a Fishers, Indiana native, will compete in three different events just a few miles from home. The incoming rookie will start the week off with the 100-meter freestyle prelims on Tuesday, which is scheduled to start at 8:46 a.m. CDT. Parrish’s second event will be the 200-meter freestyle at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, before competing in her third event, the 200-meter backstroke, which is scheduled for a 10:08 a.m. CDT preliminary on Wednesday. Parrish is coming off a successful senior season at Fishers High School where she finished third in the 100 and 200-yard freestyles, as well as helping her 200-yard freestyle relay team to a third-place finish and her 400-yard freestyle relay team to a 10th-place finish at the Indiana High School State meet in February.

Nusbaum, who earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors in the 200-yard freestyle and the 1,650-yard freestyle, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, will also compete in the 200-meter freestyle on Wednesday.

“I’m incredibly proud of both of them,” head coach Clark Campbell said. “They are both swimming in their marquee events, the 200 Free for Jenny and the 200 Back for Lauryn. They will get a chance to hang out and compete and have some time together which is cool. This is the first World Championships after the Olympic year. It’s interesting because you will have a lot of new faces that are people to keep an eye on for the next four years.”

All prelim and finals sessions will be streamed live on USASwimming.org beginning at 8 a.m. CDT. Both Tuesday and Wednesday’s finals will also be broadcast on a tape delay starting at 6 p.m. CDT on NBCSN.
