Jayhawks move up to No. 16 in ITA poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Kansas women’s tennis team moved up to No. 16 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team polls as announced by the office Tuesday afternoon.

KU moved up one spot from the previous week after beating then-ranked No. 16 Texas Tech, which dropped only to 17, and an unranked TCU.

The Jayhawks toppled Texas Tech in Lubbock Friday for a 4-0 victory. The win snapped Kansas’ 13-match losing streak against the Lady Raiders.

Competing in Fort Worth Sunday, KU defeated TCU, 4-1, to be perfect on the weekend. That win was the Jayhawks’ second-ever victory against the Horned Frogs in program history.

KU will have this upcoming weekend off as it prepares for road matches at Iowa State Friday, April 6 at 3 p.m., and West Virginia Sunday, April 8 at 11 a.m.
