Kansas moves to No. 20 in ITA Poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Kansas women’s tennis team comes in as the No. 20-ranked program in the nation as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Jayhawks slipped five spots from last week’s No. 15 position after going 1-1 against then No. 38 Arkansas and Purdue over the weekend.
 
Friday, February 23, marked the second time the Razorbacks and KU have met this season. The Jayhawks won the first match, 4-3, during ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Roles reversed in Fayetteville with Arkansas overcoming the doubles-point deficit to defeat Kansas, 4-3.
 
Facing Purdue Saturday, February 24, KU won all but one singles match, downing the Boilermakers, 6-1.
 
Up next Kansas will play host to No. 21 Wichita State Friday, March 2 at 5 p.m., and Gonzaga at 12 p.m., Sunday at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
