Khmelnitckaia, Koch head to Riviera ITA All-American

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas seniors Nina Khmelnitckaia and Janet Koch start singles play in the pre-qualifying bracket Saturday at the Riviera ITA All-American Championships. Competition is slated to take place at Pepperdine’s Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu, California.

Koch, the No. 124-ranked singles player, will match up against Georgia’s Elena Christofi at 10:30 a.m., local. Khmelnitckaia, who ranks No. 106 in singles, begins her pre-qualifying bracket facing Princeton’s Stephanie Schrage at 12:15 p.m., local.

Should either Jayhawk advance out of the first round, they would play again later on Saturday. Each player will have to win three matches to advance to the qualifying bracket.
