KU netters move up to No. 15 in latest ITA poll

TEMPE, Ariz. – After a pair of home victories over then-No. 20 Wichita State (4-3) and Gonzaga (6-1), the Kansas women’s tennis team climbed five spots in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll Tuesday and will enter its match Friday at Tulsa ranked No. 15 nationally.
 
Junior Anastasia Rychagova dropped two spots to No. 3 in the singles poll, despite winning both matches over the weekend. Rychagova is now 17-2 overall this season in singles, including a perfect 7-0 mark in dual matches.
 
No. 2 singles player and Houston transfer Despoina Vogasari is ranked No. 119 in the latest poll. She owns a 17-9 overall mark, but has a 6-4 record in duals.
 
Rychagova and fellow junior Nina Khmelnitckaia improved four spots in the national doubles poll. The KU duo is ranked No. 25 after posting a pair of victories this past weekend. The tandem owns a 12-4 record for the year and a 5-2 mark in duals, all coming at the No. 1 position.
 
Up next Kansas will travel to Tulsa, which is ranked No. 26. The match is slated for Friday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m.
