Majority of KU netter roster heads to Tiger Fall Classic
LAWRENCE, Kan. – Six members of the Kansas women’s tennis team will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to compete at the Tiger Fall Classic from Friday to Sunday at the LSU Tennis Complex.
Coming off an undefeated tournament and a 6-1 fall singles record, junior Nina Khmelnitckaia and her teammates look for a strong finish at their last event of the fall season.
“With Nas (Rychagova) and Debbie (Vogasari) at the Oracle ITA Fall Nationals, the rest of the team will be closing their fall season out against a very strong field at LSU,” said head coach Todd Chapman. “Our hope is that we are challenged and end our fall season competing at our highest level.”
The Jayhawks will face two 2017 NCAA Tournament teams in LSU and Georgia Tech, as well as Princeton. LSU made it to the round of 32 while the Yellow Jackets advanced to the Sweet 16.
Play will begin Friday with doubles at 3 p.m., CT, as KU faces Georgia Tech, and singles against LSU.
