THE BASELINE
Fresh off its win over No. 51 Baylor to open Big 12 Conference play, No. 24 Kansas will head to Houston to take on Tulane and the host Cougars. KU and Tulane will face off at the John E. Hoff Courts in Houston, Texas, at 10 a.m., Saturday morning. The Jayhawks will then take on the Houston Cougars at 12 p.m., Sunday.
 
THE SERIES: KANSAS vs. TULANE
Kansas (9-2, 1-0 Big 12) and Tulane (3-10, 0-0 AAC) are tied in the all-time series, 2-2. The last match-up between the two schools was in 2010 when the Green Wave topped the Jayhawks, 4-0, in New Orleans.
 
SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE
Tulane has been run through the gauntlet of ranked opposition at the start of the spring dual season. The Green Wave enter Saturday’s match with the Jayhawks with a 3-10 record overall. Kansas will be the ninth ranked opponent on Tulane’s non-conference schedule.

SCOUTING THE COUGARS
Houston opened the 2016 campaign ranked No. 38 in the ITA rankings. Facing a tough slate to open the year, the Cougars dropped eight-straight matches. A 4-0 win over Prairie View A&M halted the streak and was the beginning of a four-match win streak for UH. The Cougars dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 73 Brown in its most recent outing on March 6. Houston head coach, Courtney Steinbock, was a four-year letterwinner at Kansas from 2000-04, where she earned First Team All-Big XII Conference honors as a junior.
 
UP NEXT
KU will remain in Houston to take on the host Cougars on Sunday, March 13 at 12 p.m. The Jayhawks will then return home to face their second Big 12 opponent, Texas, at the Jayhawk Tennis Center on Friday, March 18 at 4 p.m.
