THE BASELINE
Kansas (11-2, 1-0) looks to pick up its second win in Big 12 Conference play when it hosts Big 12 Conference rival, Texas (7-4, 0-0), Friday, March 18. Kansas enters the contest riding a three-match win streak that includes its first victory over Baylor since 2002. The No. 27 Jayhawks and No. 35 Longhorns will hit the courts at 4 p.m., at the Jayhawk Tennis Center.
 
THE SERIES: KANSAS vs. TEXAS
Texas leads the all-time series with Kansas, 27-0. The Jayhawks have yet to defeat the Longhorns in a series that began on March 30, 1977.
 
SCOUTING THE LONGHORNS
Texas enters Friday’s Match at Kansas with a 7-4 overall mark. UT is currently on a four-match win streak after topping Princeton, 5-2, in Austin on March 15. The Longhorns’ win streak also began with a win over Princeton, followed by victories over Michigan and Penn. Texas split matches with Purdue and Alabama to open the 2016 season, before collecting wins over Incarnate Word and UTSA at home. UT then dropped three-straight matches to Rice, Duke and Pepperdine before its current win streak. Senior Breaunna Addison leads the Longhorns as she has posted an 8-1 mark playing at the No. 1 singles position.

Kansas will embark on a six-match road swing following Friday’s match at home against Texas. The Jayhawks will open the road swing with its final non-conference match at Tulsa on Friday, March 25 at 5 p.m.
