Rychagova sweeps UMKC ITA Summer Circuit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas junior Anastasia Rychagova claimed both the women’s open singles and doubles titles at the UMKC ITA Summer Circuit at the Plaza Tennis Center over the weekend. Rychagova teamed up with incoming KU transfer Despoina Vogasari for the doubles championship.
 
The No. 1 seeded Jayhawk duo began the circuit with a bye in the first round before defeating three-straight opponents to earn the title. Rychagova, the No. 1 seeded singles player, also downed her three opponents to come out victorious in the final match and be named champion of women’s singles.
 
Competing at the $5K Omaha Open, No. 2 seeded Kansas freshman Amber Policare earned two wins to play in the final match where she ultimately fell to Stephanie Kent, 6-0, 6-3.
