Emilianov advances to final at European Championships

BERLIN – Kansas track & field freshman Alexandra Emilianov qualified for the final in the discus at the 2018 European Athletics Championships in Berlin, Germany on Thursday.
 
A native of Chisinau, Moldova, Emilianov recorded a toss of 58.83 meters (193-0 ft.) on her third and final throw of the qualification round. Her mark ranked her fourth in the B qualification group and was an auto-qualifying mark. The throw ranks No. 4 all-time in KU track & field women’s history. Emilianov now owns the first, third and fourth-best marks ever recorded by a Jayhawk in the event.
