Kansas men No. 19 in week 2 USTFCCCA rankings

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas track & field men’s team ranked No. 19 in the week two U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I National Ratings Index, released on Monday. The KU women came in at No. 31 in the week two ratings.

The Jayhawk men were ranked No. 11 in the week one ratings, but dropped eight spots despite having two pole vaulters, Hussain Al Hizam and Zach Bradford, jump into the top-five in the NCAA descending order list after clearing 5.58 meters (18-3.75 ft.) at the Jayhawk Classic on January 26. The KU men also have Paulo Benavides sitting at No. 25 in NCAA Division I with a season-best clearance of 5.29 meters (17-4.25 ft.).

The KU women have four athletes in the NCAA top-25. Sharon Lokedi ranks No. 3 in the 5,000-meter run, Rylee Anderson sits at No. 14 in the high jump, Andrea Willis is No. 13 in the pole vault and Alexandra Emilianov ranks No. 25 in the shot put.

Kansas is back in action this weekend at the Texas Tech Open in Lubbock, Texas and the Power Five Invitational in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Both meets are scheduled for February 1-2.
