Kansas men, women No. 15 in latest USTFCCCA rankings

NEW ORLEANS – The Kansas women’s track & field team climbed four spots to No. 15, while the Jayhawk men remained at No. 15 for the second-straight week in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national rankings, released by the organization on Tuesday.
 
The No. 15 Kansas men will have nine entries in the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.  Sophomore Gleb Dudarev (hammer throw), junior Hussain Al Hizam (pole vault), senior Nick Meyer (pole vault), sophomore Bryce Hoppel (800m), senior Nicolai Ceban (discus), freshman George Evans (discus), junior Dylan Hodgson (steeplechase), senior Barden Adams (triple jump) and the 4×400-meter relay team will all be making the trip to the Pacific Northwest.
 
The 15th-ranked Jayhawk women will have seven entries at the Outdoor Championships, with junior LaTyria Jefferson (long jump, high jump) and senior Sharon Lokedi (5,000m, 10,000m) leading the way with two entries each. Senior Courtney Coppinger (steeplechase), freshman Alexandra Emilianov (discus) and sophomore Andrea Willis (pole vault) will also travel to Eugene for the national meet.
 
The NCAA Championships are scheduled to run June 6-9. Television coverage will be provided by ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU and ESPN3 will have an online video live stream of all field and combined events.
