Kansas Set to Take On K-State at the Big 12 Championship

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball heads into the 2015 Big 12 Championship with back-to-back victories over Oklahoma and  Iowa State to conclude the regular season, which wrapped up Tuesday evening. The Jayhawks learned their fate for Friday’s first round match up, as KU earned the No. 9 seed and will face No. 8 seed Kansas State on March 6 at 6 p.m., inside the American Airlines Center.
 
Last year, Kansas (15-16, 6-12 Big 12) went 1-1 at the Big 12 Championship before being eliminated by eventual winner Baylor. The Jayhawks advanced to face the Lady Bears in the second round after claiming an overtime victory against in-state rival Kansas State. Dating back to 1983, KU has a 32-30 record in conference postseason action.
 
Every game at the Big 12 Championship will be broadcast by the FOX Sports Network. Friday’s two games will air on FOX College Sports, while the postseason championship quarterfinal games will air on FSN for the 14th-consecutive year. The semifinal and final rounds of the Big 12 Championship will appear on FS1.
 
Additionally, Kansas women’s basketball games at the Big 12 Championship can be heard on the Jayhawk Radio Network. The winner between Kansas and Kansas State will face No. 1 Baylor on Saturday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m., on FSN.
