VIDEO: Former Jayhawk McCray Returns to Campus

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Former Kansas women’s basketball star and current professional player Danielle McCray was back on the KU campus Tuesday and addressed the local media before speaking in front of the participants of the Bonnie Henrickson basketball camp.

McCray, who is recovering from a torn Achilles heel in her left foot, was a senior at Kansas during the 2009-10 season. She finished her KU career scoring 1,934 points, which is fourth all-time in school history.

As the highest WNBA draft pick in Kansas history, McCray was the No. 7 overall pick by the Connecticut Sun in the 2010 draft. McCray suited up for the Sun the past two seasons, but is missing this year due to injury. She has also played overseas in Israel, Slovakia and Italy.
