Ninth Annual Henrickson Golf Tournament A Hit

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Over 50 teams hit the links to support the ninth annual Bonnie Henrickson Golf Tournament at Alvamar Country Club Saturday afternoon.

“It’s been a great day and Mother Nature has been good to us,” said head coach Bonnie Henrickson of the golf tournament. “It’s a great day of fellowship and spending time with people who are excited about the program. We have some serious golfers here, but the most serious element is how much they love the Jayhawks and want to help fight cancer.”

Warm weather and sun greeted participants for the four-person scramble tournament. The action teed off at 1 p.m. and ended with dinner, live and silent auctions.

Coach Henrickson, along with the entire women’s basketball staff and team were on hand throughout the day. Several members of the Jayhawks roster learned how to putt on the green during registration. Supporters got a chance to catch up with returning players and meet the newcomers.

All proceeds of the tournament benefit the KU women’s basketball program and the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Center.
