KU Women’s Basketball TV Slate Announced

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball will have three games featured on the Big 12’s telecast schedule on Fox Sports Net (FSN) this year, as announced by the conference on Thursday afternoon.

“We are among the most televised women’s basketball programs in the country,” said head coach Bonnie Henrickson. “It is great for our program to get national coverage and to be able to display our team, facilities and fans. It gives Jayhawk fans across the nation a chance to see us play.”

Of the three televised games by FSN, two games will be on the road and one at Allen Fieldhouse. The FSN lineup includes Kansas at Baylor (Jan. 5), at Kansas State (Jan. 25) and then hosting Iowa State (March 1). The Baylor game is slated for a 3 p.m. tipoff, while Kansas State is scheduled for 1 p.m. and Iowa State at 7 p.m.

The postseason championship quarterfinal games will be aired by FSN for the 13th-consecutive year while the semifinals and final will make their first national appearance on FS1. The final three games have appeared on FOX networks every year since the inception of the Conference in 1996-97. The Big 12 Championship begins March 7 and the final will be played on March 10.

All other KU home games during the 2013-14 season will be televised on the Jayhawk Television Network/ESPN3.

The Jayhawks return two starters from last season’s roster that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the second year in a row. KU welcomes five newcomers, including three three-star recruits.
