Jayhawks' Full Broadcast Slate for 2015-16 Announced

LAWRENCE, Kan. – For the third year in a row, Kansas women’s basketball will have two-thirds of its schedule broadcast nationally, making it easier for fans across the country to watch the Jayhawks in action, as KU announced the full broadcast lineup for the 2015-16 season Tuesday afternoon.

With over 20 games set to air on television this year, the Jayhawks continue to be one of the most televised women’s basketball programs in the nation.

Every home matchup this season will air on ESPN3, Time Warner Cable SportsChannel or both. Kansas Athletics’ partnership with Time Warner Cable and ESPN3 brings fans closer to the Jayhawks with each passing season.

ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app will exclusively broadcast the Jayhawks’ first exhibition contest against Pittsburg State on Nov. 1 and their non-conference game against Oral Roberts on Dec. 22. The rest of KU’s home slate will air on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel throughout the state of Kansas and can be seen nationally on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.

Kansas will also have two games featured on FSN, as announced last week. KU’s matchup with in-state rival Kansas State on Jan. 20 inside Allen Fieldhouse will be broadcast on FSN with tip off at 7 p.m. CT. Kansas’ final game of the regular season will also be shown on FSN when the Jayhawks travel to TCU on Feb. 29, starting at 6 p.m. CT. FOX Sports Network will air every game at the Big 12 Championship, which tips off on March 4 at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Stay tuned to KUAthletics.com for updates to Kansas’ 2015-16 television schedule as additional road games may be added to the broadcast lineup.

Additionally, every game of the 2015-16 season will be broadcast on the Jayhawk IMG Sports Radio Network. Each contest will be available on the Kansas Mobile app, via KUAthletics.com, or Tunein app.

Jimmy Chavez takes over as the voice of Kansas women’s basketball and will call all the action, home and away, this season. A 2006 graduate, Chavez earned his degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. From 2010-12, he served as the voice of Newman University men’s and women’s basketball teams. In 2011, Chavez called the action for Bishop Carroll football in Wichita, Kansas. The San Antonio, Texas native has also worked with Yahoo! Sports Radio as an update anchor, host and reporter.

Season tickets are on sale now and start at just $69 for a full season of women’s basketball action in Allen Fieldhouse. Family Zone tickets are also available and include two adult and two youth tickets to every home game for only $149.

The Jayhawks begin their 2015-16 campaign with Late Night in the Phog, which is hosted along with Kansas men’s basketball, on Friday, Oct. 9, inside Allen Fieldhouse.
