LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s basketball hosted its annual Holiday Hoops Clinic on Friday afternoon. Allen Fieldhouse was filled with laughter and basketball as 225 children participated in the yearly clinic.

“I think the best part is just seeing how happy they are to see us,” said junior forward Bunny Williams. “And how happy they get when they make a shot and stuff like that.”

Boys and girls ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade participated in basketball drills with current Jayhawk players and the KU coaching staff. The children, along with some parents, spent time at seven stations learning different skills.

The two-hour clinic also included an autograph session and photographs with the Kansas players. Each participant received a voucher to attend a KU women’s basketball game later on this season.

“It’s so much fun, it’s so cute,” said head coach Bonnie Henrickson. “They’re here to get their autographs and spend time with the team. We want to impart our love of the game and the wisdom we might have on them.”

Kansas hosts Yale on Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. inside Allen Fieldhouse for its final non-conference game of the 2013-14 season. KU opens Big 12 action Jan. 2 against West Virginia.
