DiMarco in 23rd at 2015 SALLY
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Kansas senior women’s golfer Gabriella DiMarco shot an 80 (+8) and is tied for 23rd after one round at the 89th Annual South Atlantic Women’s Amateur Championship, also known as the SALLY, at Oceanside Golf and Country Club Wednesday. Fellow KU senior Minami Levonowich shot an 87 (+15) is tied for 62nd in the 83-golfer field.
Held the second week in January, the SALLY is a four-day event which draws some of the top U.S. amateurs. DiMarco is four shots from the top eight in the competition. Katie Mitchell, of the University of Louisville, leads the field after shooting a 3-under 69 in her opening round.
Last year, Levonowich finished 23rd at the SALLY, while DiMarco placed 37th.
The 89th Annual SALLY will continue with 18 holes on Jan. 15, 16 and 17.
