Kansas Women’s Golf Duo Participating in the Prestigious SALLY

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s golf juniors Gabriella DiMarco and Minami Levonowich each shot a 77 in the first round of the Women’s South Atlantic Amateur Golf Championship, also known as the SALLY, at Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach, Fla., Wednesday.
 
Held the second week in January, the SALLY is a four-day event which draws some of the top U.S. amateurs. Beginning in 1926, this is 88th SALLY.  
 
DiMarco, from West Chester, Pa., and Levonowich, from Hilton Head, S.C., each carded a birdie on the first hole of the SALLY. DiMarco then registered 12 pars, while Levoniwich had 13 pars with both ending their rounds at 5-over on the par-72 course. The duo is tied for 20th in the 74-golfer field and two shots from ninth place heading into the second of four rounds on Thursday. Brooke Henderson leads the field after shooting a 5-under 67, three strokes ahead of Annabel Dimmock and Harin Lee.
