Kansas Women’s Golf Duo Finish in Upper Half at the Prestigious SALLY

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s golf junior Minami Levonowich placed tied for 23rd, while junior teammate Gabriella DiMarco finished 37th of the Women’s South Atlantic Amateur Golf Championship, also known as the SALLY, Jan. 15-18, at Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach, Fla.
 
Held the second week in January, the SALLY is a four-day event which draws some of the top U.S. amateurs. Beginning in 1926, 2014 was the 88th SALLY. Levonowich shot a final round 7-over 79 and finished with a four-round 316 (+28) which tied her 23rd in the 74-golfer field. The Katy, Texas, junior was two strokes from the top 20. DiMarco, from West Chester, Pa., shot an 11-over 83 in her final round and has a 327 (+39) total.
 
Brooke Henderson won the event with a 3-under 285, which included an even-par 72 in her final round. Henderson was the only golfer under par for the event as Annabel Dimmock finished second with a 289 (+1).
