Kansas Tied for 10th Following Second Round in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Kansas women’s golf team recorded a team score of 311 (+23) in the second round to sit in 10th place at the Florida State Matchup at Southwood Golf Club Saturday.

Kansas currently has a two day total to 620 (+44), which puts KU just one stroke behind ninth place and Sunflower State rival Kansas State (619)

Kansas senior Meghan Potee led the Jayhawks Saturday as she shot a second-round 76 (+4), to give her a two-round total of 157 (+13) and place her in a tie for 43rd. Potee started the day on a rough note shooting four-over par through the first three holes. She quickly found her touch and shot even par through the next 15 holes. Joining Potee at the top for the Jayhawks was junior Minami Levonowich who also shot a four-over par, 76, bringing her two day total to 160 (+16) putting her in a tie for 52nd.

Contributing to the Jayhawks effort was Thanuttra “Fong” Boonraksasat, who finished the day carding a 79 (+7), bringing her two day total to 150 (+6) and putting her in a tie for 19th.

Sophomore Yupaporn “Mook” Kawinpakorn and freshman Pornvipa “Faii” Sakdee both finished the round with an 80 (+8). Mook currently sits in tie for 50th with a two day total of 159 (+15), while Faii is placed in a tie for 47th with a 158 (+14).

South Carolina is leading the event after two rounds with a total score of 586 (+10) on the par-72 course. In second place is Clemson who trails the leaders by just three strokes with a two day total of 589 (+13).

For the Match-up portion of the tournament Kansas and Furman are sitting in sixth with a two day combined score of 765. Leading the Match-up event is Clemson and Virginia who have a total score of 736.

The Florida State Match-up will conclude Sunday Feb. 16 with 18 holes. The players are set to tee off starting at 8:30 am ET.
