LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas women’s golf team will compete in the second tournament of the spring season when its travels to Augusta Ga., to partake in the 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, on March 14-16.

The Jayhawk squad will consist of the same five faces for the fifth-straight tournament as freshman Pornvipa “Faii” Sakdee, sophomore Yupaporn “Mook” Kawinpakorn, junior Minami Levonowich, and seniors Meghan Potee and Thanuttra “Fhong” Boonraksasatand hit the course this Friday.

Fhong, Levonowich and Faii will all be making their seventh tournament appearance of the season and remain the only three players to compete in every tournament this year. The Jayhawks are looking to build on their best performances of the season, all of which came at the Palmetto Intercollegiate. Fhong ended the event with a carded score of 223 (+7).  Levonowich shot a 22 (+6), while Faii recorded the best final score of her career as she posted a 217, 1-over par.

While these three Jayhawks have played in all the tournaments thus far the other two participants, Mook and Potee, have participated in six of the seven events this season. Mook is looking to get back to her ways as she hopes to build on her 3-under par performance that she gave at the Cardinal Cup to open the season. Potee is also looking to contribute in a big way as she looks to record a top-10 finish once again, like she has done two other times this season.

The 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate will be played at Forest Hills Golf Club which is a par-72 course that measures 7,140-yards. The 14-team field, hosted by GRU Augusta, includes Kansas, Boston College, Campbell, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Illinois, Lamar, Mercer, Purdue, Southern Mississippi, Troy and Vanderbilt. The tournament will be played over three days where the competitors will see 18 holes each day on Friday March 14, Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16.
