LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas women’s golf team will travel to John Island S.C., as the Jayhawks will partake in the Briar’s Creek Invitational Monday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 25, at Golf Club at Briar’s Creek.

The Jayhawks will be represented by the same five players as those who participated in the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, Thanuttra “Fhong” Boonraksasat, Yupaporn “Mook” Kawinpakorn, Minami Levonowich, Meghan Potee and Pornvipa “Faii” Sakdee.

Faii is entering the tournament after coming off her second top-ten finish of the season as she finished in a tie for eighth after carding a 225 (+9), at the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate. Fhong will be looking to help the Jayhawks to another strong finish as she recorded her fifth top-20 finish at the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate. Fhong marked a 227 (+11) which was good enough to place her in a tie for 12th.

Mook also carded a top-20 finish, her sixth of the season, as she recorded a 230 (+14), placing her in a tie for 19th at the Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate. Potee and Levonowich look to improve on their scores from last week as Potee finished in a tie for 27th at 16-over par, 232, and Levonowich placed in a tie for 39th at 237 (+21).

Gabriela DiMarco will be playing as an individual for the Jayhawks for the fifth time this season. DiMarco looks to improve on her best outing of the year where she carded a 230 (+14) at the UMKC Kangaroo Invitational, placing her in a tie for ninth.

The tournament will be taking place at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, where the players will be pitted against a 6,120-yard par-72 course. College of Charleston will be the home team with Kansas, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Clemson, Costal Carolina, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, GRU Augusta, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Penn State, Princeton, South Florida, Texas Tech, and Wisconsin.

The Briar’s Creek Invitational will take place over two days where the competitors will play two rounds, 36 holes, on Monday, March 24, and conclude with one round, 18 holes, on Tuesday March 25.
