DALLAS – Kansas junior women’s golfer Yupaporn Kawinpakorn is tied for sixth place after two rounds at the SMU/DAC Invitational at the Dallas Athletic Club Friday. As a team, the Jayhawks are tied with Houston for fifth place in the 16-team field with an overall score of 602 (+26).  
 
Kawinpakorn carded a 76 (+4) for the morning round and then was able to improve six strokes in the afternoon with a 2-under 70. Her two-round 146 (+2) has her tied for sixth place in the 84-golfer field.
 
KU sophomore Pornvipa Sakdee and senior Minami Levonowich both concluded the second round tied for 32nd at 152 (+8). Sakdee had a strong first round with a score of 73 (+1) and then a 79 (+7) for round two. Levonowich carded an 80 (+8) for round one and improved eight strokes in her second round with an even-par 72.
 
Jayhawk senior Gabriella DiMarco sits tied for 47th with a two-round score of 156 (+12) with a 75-81 in rounds one and two. Senior Michelle Woods is tied for 75th with an overall score of 164 (+20). Woods fired a 77 (+5) in her afternoon round which was 10 strokes better than her 87 in the morning.
 
Big 12 Conference member, Oklahoma State leads the tournament by seven strokes with a team score of 579 (+3). UC Davis is in second place with a score of 586 (+10) and Purdue is in third with an overall score of 592 (+16). Kansas is eight strokes behind fourth place Texas Tech at 594 (+18).
