Senior Advances at Pennsylvania Amateur

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women’s golf senior Gabriella DiMarco has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Pennsylvania State Women’s Golf Amateur (PSWGA) Championship. DiMarco, from West Chester, Pennsylvania, will face the top seed, Shannon Gramley, Wednesday, at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz, Pennsylvania.

DiMarco qualified for match play by shooting a 76 (+4) at Bent Creek in the play-in round on August 11. She tied for eighth in the 39-golfer field and entered match play as the eighth seed. DiMarco then defeated ninth-seed Katie Miller, 4 and 3, to advance to Wednesday’s quarterfinal. The PSWGA runs through August 15.

One of three seniors on the 2014-15 KU roster, DiMarco has competed in 24 events in her three-year career at Kansas with two top-10 finishes. Last year, she recorded a 79.4 stroke average in five events with her best finish tying for ninth at the UMKC Invitational in October. DiMarco is a six-time member of the Athletic Director’s and Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Rolls and was an Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection her sophomore year.
