LAWRENCE, Kan. – After having a week off for the first time this season, the Kansas women’s golf team will tee off at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club, Oct. 10-12 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

There will be six Jayhawks representing the team including one playing as an individual. The Jayhawks will bring sophomore Pornvipa Sakdee, junior Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, seniors Minami Levonowich, Gabriella DiMarco and Michelle Woods. Freshman Pitsinee Winyarat will play as the individual.

Kawinpakorn leads KU with a 74.33 per round average that includes two rounds under par. She has two top-10 finishes this fall. Sakdee won the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational (Sept. 8-9) and is just behind Kawinpakorn with a 74.66 average. DiMarco is next on the team with a 75.5 per 18 hole average, while Woods is next at 74.66 and Levonowich at 78. Winyarat will be playing in her second event of the fall.

“We have worked a lot on short game and some mental stuff.” KU head coach Erin O’Neil said of the week off. “We need to focus on what’s in our control and just play the best we can and keep doing what we have been doing. We have finished in the top five every time and if we keep doing that we will be fine.”

Joining Kansas in the 12-team field at the Ron Moore Women’s Intercollegiate will be host Denver, Northern Colorado, Northern Arizona, Wyoming, Nebraska, Long Beach State, Georgetown, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Montana State and Kansas State.

The tournament will be played throughout three days with the first 18 holes being played on Friday, Oct. 10th. The second round will be played Saturday, Oct. 11 and the last 18 holes on Oct. 12.
