Williams Education Fund Staff Update

Mary Carpenter has joined the Williams Education Fund staff as an associate director, while Mykala Sandifer has been promoted to assistant director, announced Ryan White, senior associate athletics director.

Carpenter, a University of Kansas graduate, and former member of the KU Rowing team, will lead the day-to-day operations of the annual fund, serve as the liaison to the ticket sales & service department and oversee Kansas Athletics’ One Day One KU efforts, among other duties.

This is Carpenter’s second stint with Kansas Athletics; her first was when she served as the administrative assistant of recruitment for the women’s basketball program from 2013-14.

Most recently, Carpenter served as the prospect management coordinator for the KU Endowment Association.

Sandifer, who joined the Williams Education Fund staff in January 2018 as the office manager, will now serve as the assistant director. In her role, she will work directly with Carpenter to manage the annual fund, specifically focused on acquisition, stewardship and communication to all members. Sandifer also will oversee all donor priority ticket and parking requests and manage the young alumni and Rising Jayhawks student program.

“Mary’s previous experience working with KU Endowment and being a former student-athlete made her a great fit for the position,” said White. “Mykala is very deserving of this promotion, and I’m excited to have her in this expanded role. Both individuals will play an important part in the growth of our annual fund.”
