Globe-Trotting Jayhawks: Jada Brown

From Aug. 8-18, the Kansas women’s basketball team and staff will embark on a 10-day foreign tour through France and Switzerland, as the Jayhawks aim to build team chemistry and grow together on and off the hardwood. Throughout the tour, which includes four games, a different player on KU’s 2016-17 roster will share what the team was up to each day while abroad.

Day 2 – Paris, France
Hello Jayhawk Nation!

Today was a very long day for us considering that our travel was delayed and our bags have yet to make it to Paris! But, despite the madness, we are more than thrilled to finally be in Europe and united as a team.

We started off this experience with a team dinner at Chartier, a restaurant on the strip that our hotel is located on. The food was delicious. While majority ordered the most Americanized food on the menu, such as steak and spaghetti, a few of us decided to go out on a limb and get adventurous in trying something new. We tried duck and escargot, which is snail. A few of us really liked the taste while others didn’t like the new cuisine as much.

After dinner we were set free to go explore the fashion capital of the world. Since we didn’t have any of our bags or clothes, this was the perfect time to take advantage of some shopping. We split into three groups and found some outfits for all of the tourist activities we have planned ahead! We were also forced to figure out how to convert French shoe sizes and money while on this mission, which will be beneficial for us the rest of the tour!

The next step is to adjust to the seven hour time difference and get some rest before taking on the Eiffel Tower and other sights around Paris tomorrow!

Rock Chalk!
