Boonraksasat posts top-5 finish at TLPGA Open

HSINCHU, Taiwan – Thanuttra Boonraksasat, a former Kansas golfer, earned a fifth-place finish at the 2016 TLPGA Open Friday after firing a six-under-par 210 over the three-day event at Royal Kuan-Hsi Golf Club.
 
Boonraksasat, a native of Thailand, battled against 98 professional players and 10 amateur players, including players from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
 
After a four-under 68 in the first round, Boonraksasat opened the event in third place and followed with a two-under 70 in the second round.
 
Boonraksasat’s last season with the Jayhawks was during the 2013-14 campaign, which culminated in Kansas’ first trip to the NCAA Championship in 24 years. She finished her senior season with a 75.62 scoring average, which ranks No. 11 all-time in KU history.
