Fonseca Diaz remains two strokes off the leader

ORLANDO, Fla. – Kansas sophomore Ariadna Fonseca Diaz kept pace with the rest of the 2016 Orlando International Amateur field Thursday by posting a one-over 73 during the second round at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge.

Diaz enters the third and final round tied for third overall and two strokes behind the event leader, Jessica Porvasnik.  Through 14 holes, Diaz was sitting at three-under for the round, but two bogeys and a double bogey over the final four holes prevented her from finishing the day at par or below.

In the two completed rounds, Diaz has totaled seven birdies and 24 pars, while only scoring four bogeys and one double bogey to sit with a one-under 143.

Diaz, along with the rest of field, will conclude the event on Friday, December 30. The official online source for Kansas Athletics, Williams Education Fund contributions, tickets, merchandise, multimedia, photos and much, much more.
