Fonseca Diaz spends her winter break playing golf

SEIBRING, Fla. – Kansas sophomore Ariadna Fonseca Diaz has not spent the semester break kicking her feet up and relaxing. Instead she’s been focused on her golf game.

Fonseca Diaz had already represented her home country of Venezuela at the 2016 Copa Los Andes Tournament over Thanksgiving break.  Then she competed at the 54-hole Orlando International Amateur at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge during the waning days of 2016 and now she is currently in the field at 72-hole event, the 62nd Harder Hall Women’s Invitational at the Harder Hall Golf Club.

Fonseca Diaz fired a 75 over the first round Wednesday and followed that up with a 76 Thursday. At 7-over, she stands in a tie for 13th with a 151.

The event continues Friday and Fonseca Diaz is scheduled to tee off at 11:10 a.m. CT, on the first tee.
