Winyarat top amateur in All Thailand Premier

THA PHRA, Thailand – Kansas senior Pitsinee Winyarat, a native of Thailand, fired a 9-over 225 to walk away as the top amateur in the field of the three-round 2017 All Thailand Premier Championship at the Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club.

Winyarat finished tied for fifth overall, but ranked as high as No. 2 on the leaderboard, in a three-way tie at 4-over, after the second round of play. She was 1-over after the first round after sinking three birdies en route to her score of 73. In the second round, Winyarat carded par scores on all but three holes, all bogeys, to finish with a 75.

In the final round, Winyarat once again was unable to record a birdie on her scorecard. But unlike the first two rounds, she ran into trouble on hole No. 9 where she posted her first and only double bogey of the event. Regardless, she was still six strokes ahead of the closet amateur in the field at the conclusion of the third and final round.

Winyarat qualified for the event after scoring an even-par 72 in the qualifying round, which was tied for the second-best effort overall.
