Nine Jayhawks Honored for Academic All-Big 12 Swimming and Diving Team
IRVING, Texas. – The Big 12 Conference announced Tuesday that nine Jayhawks earned first and second team Academic All-Big 12 recognition for their performances in the pool and classroom.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 grade point average (GPA) or higher (either cumulative or the two previous semesters) and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of participation. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

Laura Bilsborrow, So., Global & International Studies
Alyssa Golden, Sr., Community Health & Pre-Nursing
Bryce Hinde, So., Exercise Science
Malia Johnson, Sr., Psychology & Pre-Dental
Deanna Marks, Jr., Mechanical Engineering & Business Administration
Chelsie Miller, So., Accounting
Kansas second-team honorees include:
Alison Lusk, Sr., Chemical Engineering
Haley Molden, So., Exercise Science
Sara Snow, Sr., Exercise Science
The team is currently in Austin, Texas to compete in the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships. The team is looking to clinch at least a second-place finish, which would be a program best in the Big 12 era.
